About Me

My photo
I am a Junior at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I love love LOVE the crisp smell that Fall brings, but also need the vitamin D that summer brings. I thoroughly enjoy photography and watching movies. To anyone that likes the outdoors, I'm sure we will get along quite well-- I dig fresh air :) I have a cat named Kozmo, who is quite crazy, and If it were more convenient at this time in my life, i'd have a dog as well. As you might conclude, I am an animal junky.

Share & Voice: Local Restaurant

I was trying to find restaurants that are organic in Duluth, and I came across the Northern Waters Smokehaus. Its dedicated to using local, sustainably-raised meats and fish, and better yet... its actually affordable! If you are like me, and find it hard to give up on eating meats (even though we all know how they're inhumanely raised) then this would be a good spot to check out!!

  1. I went to this website to see where this place was located and it's funny that I've never heard of this restaurant and it's located right in Canal Park! I'm down there a lot and I can't believe I've never heard of or seen it! Maybe I just didn't have my eye open for it! Thanks, I will have to try this place out!

  2. I worked in Canal Park over the summer and remember seeing this restaurant but it never appealed to me because the word Smokehaus made me think it was just another smoked meat place. I will have to go here sometime, though, the fact you said it is actually affordable makes it sound even more awesome.

  4. I too also work in Canal during the summer and have walked passed this restaurant multiple times. I guess I have had my stereotypes about this place because it was always smelling extremely like fish! It kind of always turned me off but now I realize it smells like that because it is so so fresh! I am sure it is delicious!

  6. Neat! The picture reminds me a lot of the restaurant 'Amazing Grace' in canal. I have never heard of this restaurant before, where is it located exactly? I would love to try them out as well as support our community!

  7. Cool! Never heard of them before. I like fish but I'm not too big with it as much as my family. I'm also picky with how fishes are cooked so I shall check it out one day.
