- I am a Junior at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I love love LOVE the crisp smell that Fall brings, but also need the vitamin D that summer brings. I thoroughly enjoy photography and watching movies. To anyone that likes the outdoors, I'm sure we will get along quite well-- I dig fresh air :) I have a cat named Kozmo, who is quite crazy, and If it were more convenient at this time in my life, i'd have a dog as well. As you might conclude, I am an animal junky.

hey elly! I couldn't find were the hyperlink was, I am probably as blind as a bat and am totally missing it! But I think sealing off areas where air maybe escaping is an excellent way to save, heat, energy, and money!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, recently my parent's house in the cities had just been insulated more so we would not be wasting any heat because that is expensive! From that, I learned that unnecessary heat should be reduced to save more energy and money. I will probably have to go back home and inspect everything now that I am more aware.
ReplyDeleteThis tree hugger website is really cool, I kind of navigated and browsed around it and there's a lot on there. A great way to save on heating bills and energy is get the plastic window seal. I've never done it but my dad just got me some, and I know other people who do it and say they see a significant difference on their bill.
ReplyDeleteYes, any tips on how to conserve energy, lower bills, and maintain adequate heat are really helpful. As far as the plastic window seals go, my boyfriend and their roommates do that every year and they really do help a ton. I was over there when they had just finished putting the plastic on the windows and after about 2 or 3 hours the temperature in the room raised something close to 10 and 15 degrees!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find the hyperlink either, but the ideas you gave are great! My roommates and I sealed our windows the first year, but didn't get around to it last year. I think I should suggest that we do it again. The downfall is that we would be using a lot of plastic to do it.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first year I sealed off my windows for the winter. We don't pay for utilities at my house that we rent so it never directly affected me. But after this class I know that I'm destroying the environment if I don't try to help! It's actually made my room a lot warmer too :)
